Fear and Purpose

In order to stop symptoms, reverse disease, and stay on a path to overall health and wellness you need to have balance in three areas:

Food and Nutrition

Science and Nutrition

Emotional balance (Soul health)

I find that most people are missing pieces to one, two, or all three of these components and overlook the fact that having complete balance with all three is the key to whole health. It’s not just the right diet, or the perfect supplement, or the right labs. It’s also, the right mindset and emotional balance that leads to long-term heath and wellness.

One of the main puzzle pieces to emotional balance, is the perspective people have when choosing to make change. And essentially, there are only two ways people make change: through fear or purpose.

With FEAR, you are moving AWAY from an issue. Example, “I want to be out of debt.”

With PURPOSE, you are intentionally moving TOWARDS what you want. Example, “I want to be financially free.”

I have found that when clients realign their goals with purpose, they get better faster, with less effort, and with longer-term success.

When you are in FEAR mode your emotions tend to circle around depression, anxiety, frustration, panic, and overwhelm.

When you focus on PURPOSE, your emotions will show up as joy, happiness, enthusiasm, and gratitude.

So, take a moment and reflect… In your journey of healing, how do you approach it?

Is it from a point of FEAR?

“I don’t want to get sick like my parents.”

“I want my symptoms to stop.”

“I’m afraid to make changes, because they might not work.”

Or is it from the position of PURPOSE and intention?

“I want to be healthy and set a good example for my children.”

“I want to be whole and healed.”

“I choose to make the changes necessary because I deserve health.”

Though these may seem like small differences, they make enormous impact on healing and wellness. Not only do I see this every day with clients, there are numerous studies which solidify the success of this shift in perception.

Reaching towards what you want (PURPOSE), rather than running away from what you don’t want (FEAR), is a key component in attaining your life goals surrounding health, financial, relationships, and personal happiness.

Right now, take a moment to scan your most recent decisions about your life. Do you typically make choices based on fear or purpose?

Are you moving towards what you want or away from what you don’t?

When was the last time you advocated for yourself, purposely aligned your decisions with your goals, obtained what you really wanted, and then stayed on track to KEEP those successes?

Collagen Facts. What is it, and why do we need it as we age?

Collagen Facts

Collagen is a critical protein that makes up approximately 30% of all proteins in the human body. It’s the second most common substance in the body, second only to water. You may say it’s the “glue” that holds our bodies together, and the benefits of collagen are many.
Multi-Collagen Protein Powder helps to provide:
*Healthy gut repair and brain function
*Greater mobility and flexibility; strong, healthy muscles; and healthier, stronger bones and joints
*Vibrant, firmer, glowing skin and fight back against the effects or normal aging
*Easier weight management and/or weight loss, due to its satiating effect on hunger
*Deeper and more restful sleep

What is collagen made of?
Collagen protein is comprised of amino acids, including proline, glycine, glutamine, and arginine. It’s only found in animals, primarily in the flesh and connective tissue (tendons, ligaments, and much more), and it plays an important role in our bodies.

Why is collagen important?
After the age of 20, only one percent of collagen is produced in the skin each year. When the body doesn’t have enough collagen, the skin starts to thin, wrinkle, and sag. Hair can become lifeless or limp, and tendons and ligaments aren’t as elastic as they once were. Your joints can feel it, too. They can get stiff and “creaky.” By supplementing with Multi-Collagen Protein, you can help boost collagen levels in the body to support healthy tendons, ligaments, joints, skin, and more. Collagen protein supplements may also increase metabolism, boost energy levels, and help to maintain healthy muscle tissue.

How much can I have in a day?
For best results, use 1 (or, up to 3) servings daily to reach your optimal health level.

Collagen Type 1&3 Benefits
Provides specific amino acids necessary to replenishing the body’s collagen supply helps minimize fine lines & wrinkles, and improves elasticity in the skin builds and supports bone matrix, corrects weak, broken, split and damaged nail beds thickens fine hair, adds body and slows down hair loss repairs connective tissues for improved elasticity; improves circulation; promotes glycine builds lean muscle to help burn fat while you sleep.

Collagen: The Body’s Anti-Aging Protein
Collagen supplementation is one of the most fundamental things a person can do to prevent premature aging and promote youthful vitality. Understanding collagen begins with knowing that it is truly the glue that holds the body together; it is the building block for all our body’s major systems.

Although abundant in our youth, the body’s natural collagen production typically slows at a rate of 1.5% per year after the age of 25. As this collagen production slows, the collagen fibers in the body become brittle and begin to break down resulting in many of the tell-tale signs of aging, such as loose, flaccid skin, wrinkles, ligament and tendon injuries and osteoarthritis.

Collagen Types 1&3, is 90% of the body’s total collagen supply and the main collagen constituents in the skin, hair, nails, ligaments, tendons, bones and muscles.

The Science of Collagen
Collagen 1&3 is composed of 19 amino acids and is a rich source of glycine, proline, alanine and hydroxyproline.
Once taken orally, it can produce peptides that stimulate fibroblast cells to produce and reorganize new collagen fibers which, upon bundling, can build the mechanical strength of the connective tissues and strengthen the extracellular matrix.

Libido issues? Male hormone replacement therapy is just as important as females hormone imbalances

As we age, we lose precious hormones that regulate so many functions in our bodies.  It is the natural aging process, and nothing to be ashamed about.  Regulating and balancing should be an ongoing process as we reevaluate our health and periodic blood work.

Muscle Issues? Scrapping? Great Local Recommendation!

So….yea….when you are in so much pain and you can’t walk straight, this is the guy to see!  I’ve not had scrapping and cupping at the same time.  He got the blood flowing and movement back in my joints.

After he worked on my sciatic nerve pain area, he worked on my shoulder/rotator cuff.  NOT a very pleasant feeling but I can move again!

Much like life, the process is sometimes painful but boy do we love the results!

Thank you Mike!

Healthy Coffee alternative-Crio Bru Ground Cacao Beans

Looking for an alternative to Coffee?  Are you trying to heal your adrenals and scared to cut coffee out?  This is a great herbal replacement with great health benefits as well.

What is Crio?
Crio Bru is a delicious brewed beverage made from 100% roasted cacao beans.
What is Cacao?
Cacao goes by many names: cacao, cocoa, ka’kao, and more.
It is harvested from the Cacao Tree, which are one of the most cultivated plant species on the planet.
Where does it come from?
Cacao was an everyday drink of the indigenous peoples of Central and South America for centuries – The Great Incas, Mayans, Olmecs, and Aztecs.
We have leveraged the ancient medicinal benefits of Cacao into a modern process of grinding the beans – preserving its plentiful health benefits.
Our Commitment to Fair Trade & Direct Trade
Crio Bru beans come from direct sources only, we cultivate personal relationships with our farmers. After all, we share the passion of delivering the cacao bean in its purest form.
Whenever possible, we work with Fair Trade Certified farmers. Fair Trade is an official certification that must be purchased.
As some of the most prized Cacao beans come from remote regions where Fair Trade Certifications are not viable, we must verify the process on our own. This is called Direct Trade; at every point within the chain of acquisition, we have committed the time and resources to ensure the following:
Beans are acquired at a fair price
Beans are cultivated sustainably, under safe conditions – protecting the environment and ensuring acceptable social standards.
All forms of labor conducted safely and willing.
This is our commitment.

Cacao vs Cocoa
Cacao typically refers to the Cacao bean in its raw form. Cocoa on the other hand, is usually associated with a process of refining the Cacao bean. Cocoa powder is roasted and ground into cocoa liquor, which is then pressed to remove the cocoa butter. The remaining cocoa solids are typically 10-20% remaining cocoa butter, but are dry enough to finely grind into powder. This process is time consuming and usually additives are present in commercial powders.
Simply put – Cacao is pure, cocoa is processed.
Crio Bru is whole Cacao, nothing is removed or added.
How else can I enjoy Crio Bru?The variations of enjoying Crio Bru as a beverage are virtually unlimited. If you can dream it, you can drink it.
Using the grounds for purposes outside of consumption is exciting as well, lots of the nutrients in Crio Bru are preserved after it is brewed.
Is Crio Bru high in acidity?
Crio Bru is only mildly acidic. pH measurement for brewed cacao beans is around 6.5.
Does Crio Inc. sell whole roasted Cacao Beans?
The complexity of Crio Bru rests in the process of grinding the beans. It has taken years of innovation and research to develop Crio’s proprietary method of grinding Cacao beans.
As cacao beans have an extremely low melting point, it is incredibly difficult to get a grind level which supports brewing and also retains the plentiful health benefits. For these reasons, Crio Bru is only available pre-ground in 10oz and 1.5lb bags available here[RA4] .
How many milligrams of Cocoa flavonols are in each in serving of Crio Bru?
Is there lead in Crio Bru?
No. Our products are tested extensively, having never returned a positive sample with lead present.
Can I make Crio in an AeroPress?
Yes, Crio Bru works well in an AeroPress. Just be sure to allow the grounds to sit for up to 2 minutes before extracting.
Are the beans fermented?
Depending on the variety that is used, there will be different levels of fermentation. Crio Bru requires a lower temperature and lower ferment to bring out the full flavor when brewed compared to chocolate products.
Are Crio Bru beans alkalized?
No, there are no additives in the process. Crio is only produced using high quality beans, thus no need for alkali.
Which part of the bean do you use?
Crio Bru contains the entire cacao bean. Our proprietary method of processing ensures that the shell is sanitary and safe for consumption

Recommended Protein intake numbers according to age

How much protein is too much protein?  Are you confused on the amount you should take in and the source?

Plant based or Animal Based?

Here are a few guidelines set by the the Institute of Medicine at the National Academy of Sciences:

Adequate Intake (AI) and Recommended Dietry Allowances (RDAs):

0-6 months: 9.1 grams

6 months to 1 year: 13.5 grams

1-3 Years: 13 grams

4-8 Years: 19 grams

9-13 Years: 34 grams

Males 14-18 years: 52 grams

Males 19+ years: 56 grams

Females 14 years+ years: 46 grams

Pregnant and Lactating Women: 71 grams

Why do we need Protein? What can they do for us?

*building blocks of the immune system, keeps the system functioning properly.

* Helps your body produce enzymes

*Helps maintain healthy skin, hair, and nails.

INADEQUATE Protein intake can lead to:

* Fatigue and Weakness

*Frequent infections

*Slow growth and development in children

*muscle wasting/Weight loss

The impact of cooking, storing and processing proteins can make proteins resistant to digestive enzymes.  Overcooking foods containing protein can destroy heat sensitive amino acids like Lysine.  Eliminating the microwave as a cooking method is so very important to your health!

Organic Sunscreen!
